About Artist

Tomoya Sakai (b.1989) is a ceramic artist based Japan. In 2015, he graduated from Nagoya University of Arts, Ceramics Course and following in 2019 from Tajimi City Pottery Design And Technical Center. He has international exhibitions and participated in many group shows. He was honored with awards. Currently, he lives and works in Seto, Japan. The shapes of clay he makes through the spinning of the pottery wheel are associated with natural objects, architectural structures, the scenes of animations and movies... He creates various works by being inspired by such images.
