About Artist After graduating from the Ceramics Department at the Fine Arts Faculty in 2007, Hacettepe University with a first-class honors degree Pınar Baklan began her master’s degree program at the same department, and completed the program in 2011. In 2012, Pinar Baklan Önal embarked on a Ph.D in ceramics at Fine Arts Institute at Hacettepe University. Participating in various group exhibitions and symposiums both nationally and internationally, she opened her first solo exhibition at Kayseri Orta Anadolu Demir Karamancı Convention Center in February of 2013. Her second solo exhibition took place at Ankara Nurol Art Gallery, Turkey in January of 2015. Baklan’s most recent solo show took place at İzmir İşsanat Gallery in 2016. Baklan has received eight national and international awards, one of which is a research scholarship allocated for a three-month period by the Polish Government in April, 2013. In 2009, she started to work as a research assistant at the Ceramics and Glass Design Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Erciyes University, and has been working as a lecturer at the same department since 2012.
