Koray Tokdemir is an interdisciplinary artist focusing on the fields of psychogeography, theoretical physics, and neuroscience. Tokdemir defines the perception of reality as a constantly flowing diagram of neural connections. The plasticity of the neural networks allows the memories to bend and reform over and over. In this ever-flowing complex pattern, his work represents a frozen section, taken from the complex interrelations between the brain and the sensory environment. His artistic production includes paintings, reliefs, sculptures, installations, and a selection of works on paper such as drawings, mixed media paintings and collages. The physical elements of his practice, from soil, concrete, plaster, and resin to plants, burned wood and metal, are exploring the ways to express the spatial nature of sensory experience.
